Here’s a post from the City of Bryan about preparations that are being made ahead of Hurricane Harvey.
Hurricane Harvey is expected to bring a significant amount of rain to our area. Please remember the very simple yet very important mantra: turn around, don’t drown. Water is an unpredictable force of nature that can sweep away roadways and as a driver, you will not be able to tell until it is too late.
Our Public Works crews and Engineering team have been working diligently to ensure drainage paths are as clear as possible to allow the drainage of storm water. In addition, staff members within the Water Services, Solid Waste, Transportation & Drainage, Traffic, Call Center, Engineering, and Parks & Recreation divisions have been placed on standby to respond on an as needed basis.
Remember, you can identify known power outages in the BTU service area at www.btutilities.com.
Currently, Brazos County is not receiving evacuees or sheltering animals.
If you are traveling this weekend, you are able to identify road closures statewide at www.drivetexas.org.
